About Us
A credit union is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by the people who use its services. These people are members. Credit unions serve groups that share something in common, such as where they work or live. Credit unions are not-for-profit, and exist to provide a safe, convenient place for members to save money and to get loans at reasonable rates. The Mobile Government Employees Credit Union (MGECU) mission and vision drive its operation and serve as the foundation of its existence.
The MGECU's workforce is directly responsible for the achievement of the mission, vision and strategic goals and as such the workforce is the organization's greatest asset. To this end, the MGECU has attracted, developed and retained highly qualified personnel. As a result, the MGECU workforce and thus the MGECU operations are value driven. These values guide the MGECU's workforce by providing a constant set of operating principles, even as the operating environment changes.
